Student self-government is a form of student self-organization, independent social activity, mechanism of representation and protecting their rights. And above the all it’s the possibility of self-realization of the student as an open, purposeful and educated personality.

The main tasks of student self-government bodies:

  • To defend and protect the interests and rights of students
  • To represent and express the position of students;
  • To help students solve problems related to study, university or hostel;
  • To inform students about future activities;
  • To promote the creation of appropriate conditions for students' education, residence and recreation;
  • To organize scientific activities and extracurricular life of students: leisure, sports activities, recreation, etc.

 

Student self-government has the following powers:

  • To resolve issues within the competence of the Student Government;
  • To present for discussion and (or) voting the decisions, made by student council of faculties (institutes);
  • To use the educational, scientific, industrial, cultural, sports, household and wellness base of universities;
  • To be represented in the governing bodies of the International Humanitarian University;
  • To resolve the issues concerning their activities independently.

Student self-government also has the following duties:

  • to direct its activities to the interests of students;
  • to protect the rights and interests of all university students without exception;
  • to comply with the legislation of Ukraine and the Student Self-Government Regulations of the International Humanitarian University;
  • to inform the students of the university about future events;
  • to report to students about their activities.

  • sport;
  • residence;
  • student media;
  • research activities;
  • learning process;
  • students' rights;
  • assistance in organizing groups and clubs of interests.
